CCA-785A
The CCA-785A is the standard assault rifle used by the Land Combat Force, and has been in service with the FLCF in varying forms for almost five years, though in many ways it is functionally identical to the weapon it replaced, the CCA-998. During this time it has proven itself to be incredibly versatile and capable of exceeding expectations in any and all combat environments. Beloved by all who use it, the 785A is powerful, durable, and easy to use, making it a deadly weapon in the hands of just about anyone.
The body of the 785A is constructed of lightweight nanocarbon reinforced with tungsten threads, while the barrel and magnetic loading mechanism are constructed of Tungsten-II, and midweight but incredibly strong material that can resists stress levels five times those of Titanium-V. The entire gun is vacuum sealed to protect against dust and other jamming elements, as well as allowing for it to be fire underwater. The Tungsten-II that makes up the internal mechanics and the barrel is coated with a thin layer of nanites that produce a constant synthetic lubricant, all but removing the need for manual lubrication and cutting down on maintenance costs and frequency.
The 785A features several unique technologies, including recoil-absorbing gel-springs in the stock, an adaptive nanopaint that can change pattern to match surrounding camouflage, and a built in holoscreen that displays ammo count, current fire mode, battery charge, and the shooter's position. A built-in rangefinder/scanner and laser sight are mounted directly under the barrel, and coordinates with the gun's computer to modify how powerful of a shot is needed to reach the target. Modular Rails on the top and side of the gun allow numerous accessories to be attached, such as scopes, extra magazines, or handgrips. The standard scope features four different modes; Standard Holographic, Thermal, Night-Vision/Low-Light, and Microwave Scanner.
The weapon has a 30-round detachable box magazine forward of the trigger that holds the 7.85x55mm caseless rounds, which are fired via electronic charge rather than a chemical reaction, allowing the weapon to be fire in the vacuum of space. This firing mechanism also allows the power of each shot to be adjusted; for instance, when facing armored opponents, the shot power is increase, while the power is decreased when facing non-armored enemies. The determination of what power is needed is made by the forward scanner mounted next to the barrel. The power of the shots is further altered via two magnetic rails that line the barrel, capable of speeding up or slowing down the bullet as it passes through. These bullets are specifically designed to penetrate armor and to cause maximum flesh damage upon impact, as the heads shatters once penetration has been achieved.
A universal mounted beneath the barrel allows for numerous attachments to be added, including a 40x51mm magnetic grenade launcher, a 12-gauge magazine-fed shotgun, or a Kinetic Energy Projector (the same sort that is found on the Marine's version of the weapon). The mount can also be used to equip grips, flashlights, or laser sights.
The 785A features semi-auto, full auto, and two-round burst modes, and because it fires caseless rounds it is fully ambidextrous and can be used by both left-handed and right-handed people. The gun's battery, which powers the firing mechanism and all on-board electronics, lasts for approximately four years with regular use before it needs to be replaced.
